Abstract:As the different ways of oblique support, the mechanical behaviors of skew girder bridge and quadrature girder bridge are quite different. In order to study the effect of support forms on the mechanical behavior of skew girder bridge, taking a landscape footbridge as the engineering background, the finite element analysis method is used to study the effects of constant load and temperature load on the bridge under two kinds of support layout. The results show that the support reaction at of the obtuse angle is larger, while at the acute angle is smaller and the supports are more likely to escape. Under the temperature loads, the supports bear the greater horizontal component, which will make the main girder and piers bear a greater lateral bending moment if the supports of skew girder bridge are set improperly.
