Abstract:

The methods of fabricated construction and partitioned cofferdam are used to quickly reconstruct or expand simply-supported bridges. It is especially suitable for shallow rivers where no-stop navigation is required, which can meet the needs of water transportation and flood control in rainy season. At the same time, when the new bridge requires higher vehicle load capacity and a large number of vehicles in the construction area, the foundation treatment should be carried out behind the bridge abutment. Also, the original pipelines are removed and protected.
