Abstract:Based on the small town construction project of Puxing Town in Xinjin County of Chengdu City, the "four-stage method" and the "growth rate method" are used to predict the planned annual traffic volume and the long-term traffic volume of the road network within the research range. By dividing the traffic area of Puxing Town and combined with the transportation mode of the residents in the small town, the departure and attraction OD within each housing estate and between Puxing Town and the external areas are predicted. The OD of vehicle planning year is allocated by the "capacity limitation - increment loading" method to each planned road. The long-term traffic volume of each planned road is predicted. From this, the reasonable suggestions on the planning scheme and section form of road are put forward. The prediction results show that the road capacity in the research range can meet the prospective annual traffic demand. The proposed cross-sectional service level can reach D level or above. The traffic condition of the project is good so far, which explains that the proposed planning scheme and section form of road are reasonable and feasible.
