Abstract:There are few researches on the human-induced vibration comfort of long-span footbridges in China. Taking a long-span pedestrian cable-stayed bridge as an example, by using the forced vibration method and the full bridge continuous pedestrian flow loading model, combined with the design guide EN03(2007) of footbridge in German, the evaluation process of the human-induced vibration comfort of long-span footbridge is expounded. The measures of vibration mitigation of tuned mass damper (TMD) system installed on bridge are taken in the design. The result illustrates that the evaluation of human-induced vibration comfort of the bridge is improved from "poor" to "best" with the measures of vibration mitigation.
