Abstract:In order to study the impact of anti-rut agent on the properties of SBS modified asphalt mixture, two kinds of anti-rutting agents from different manufacturers are compared through the rutting test, immersion Marshall test, freeze-thaw splitting test, Kentburg flying test and asphalt three-indicator test. The reinforcing modification mechanism of anti-rut agent is further analyzed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results show that the high-temperature stabilities of asphalt mixture can be improved by the two anti-rut agents, but the reinforcing mechanisms are different. Through FTIR analysis, it is found that the anti-rut agent A and SBS modified asphalt are mainly physical blending and the anti-rut agent plays the reinforcing filling role. The anti-rut agent B is chemically reacted with SBS modified asphalt, which leads to the increase of asphaltene content. DSC results show that the anti-rut agent B+SBS composite modified asphalt has worse thermal stability than the anti-rut agent A+SBS composite modified asphalt and SBS modified asphalt.
