Taking a four-span single-column pier curved continuous box girder bridge of expressway as the background, the related provisions of overturning resistance of bridge are studied according to Specifications for Design of Highway Reinforced Concrete and Prestressed Concrete Bridges and Culverts (JTG 3362-2018). Using Midas Civil to establish a bridge finite element model, the anti-overturning stability of the bridge is analyzed. The influences of joint-end support spacing, outer eccentricity of middle supports and temperature effect on the overturning stability of the single-column pier bridge are studied. The results show that the increase of the joint-end support spacing and the setup of reasonable outer eccentricity of the middle supports can effectively improve the anti-overturning capability of the bridge. And the temperature effect should be considered in the design and calculation of anti-overturning capacity of the single-column pier girder bridge.
