Abstract:Taking the rapidity reconstruction of Wuhou Avenue (Ring Road II - Ring Expressway) in Chengdu as an engineering case, the overall design method of urban expressway is discussed. The design of Wuhou Avenue (Ring Road II - Ring Expressway) Expressway is studied from two aspects of construction scale demonstration and construction form selection. The classic "four-stage" prediction model is used to predict the road flow. The road service level in the future peak period under the current road conditions is obtained through the calculation of traffic capacity of the road section, and the prediction results are analyzed. In the selection of the construction form, the traffic conditions along the road are analyzed. Two construction schemes of the ground expressway and the continuous elevated expressway are introduced in detail. After the integrated analysis and comparison from the existing construction conditions, road network planning, land use planning, traffic function, urban form influence and total investment, the overall construction scheme is determined.
