Abstract:Interchanges and service areas are the main structures along the expressway. The both are usually set separately because of the different service functions. However, with the acceleration of the urban construction process, the demand for expressway openings to connect with local roads increases. Land resources around expressways in a city are generally in short supply. On the premise of not affecting operational safety, the form of combining interchanges and service areas is adopted for the newly-added interchange entrances, which can effectively save the land resources and reduce the engineering costs. Combined with the research on the scheme of combining the south exit of Guangzhou South Railway Station and the ramp of the Jinshan Service Area, the setting conditions, essentials and attentions in the combination of newly-added interchange entrances and existing service areas are briefly summarized.
