For the channel upgrade and the requirements to maintain traffic in the reconstruction of the old Jinshan bridge in Shanghai, the bridge is partially cut before it is demolished and maintained for a one-year re-operation period. The safety risk is significantly increased, and similar engineering examples are extremely rare. A double-beam continuous restraint model is established using FEM software to simulate the process of the partial demolition of Jinshan Bridge"s partial flanges. And analysis results are formed to early warning levels and early warning values during monitoring. The deflection and stress monitoring data of the old bridge during the re-operation period after partial demolition were analyzed. The monitoring results showed that the rigidity of the structure is stable, and the measured stress is less than the theoretical control value, which can provide a reference for similar projects in the future.
