Abstract:Aiming at the local aggregate and mineral powder used for the steel deck pavement of Maputo Bridge in Mozambique, the NIKON LV100POL-type polarizing microscope is firstly used to identify the mineral content and lithology of aggregate and mineral powder, and the acid-base properties are detected by the content of SiO2. And then the specifications and the basic properties of aggregates and mineral powder are detected and analysed according to the local standards, and the proportioning design and performance verification of SMA10 and GA10 asphalt mixtures are carried out. The results show that the local aggregate of Maputo Bridge is the almond-shaped iron pyroxene basalt. The alkaline and the specifications as well as various indexes of the aggregates and mineral powders can meet the requirements of steel deck pavement. The asphalt mixture through the proportioning design can be directly used for the pavement construction.
