Abstract:In the context of building a "people-oriented" comprehensive urban transportation, the traffic management around the school appears to be particularly important, and the outcome directly affects the urban traffic operation status. Hence, it is considered as a significant part of urban traffic governance. Taking Qianjiang New Town Experimental Primary School in Hangzhou as an example, this article systematically introduces its current situation, problems and traffic management plans; briefly presents the main measures of student transportation organization in Japan and Germany to provide experience and reference for domestic school surrounding traffic management. On this basis, "four modernizations" principles, as well as the six governance measures, which are "governance from the source, diversion in time and space, amelioration of infrastructure, priority of green travel, supplementary measures in management, and social co-governance" are put forward to provide reference for school area traffic management.
