Abstract:To improve the reliability and safety of the bridge under seismic response, Give full play to seismic isolation technology in bridge seismic application, Taking the continuous beam bridge of a highway in Yunnan as the background, Establish the finite element model of the bridge on viscous dampers and without viscous dampers by software of Midas/Civil, The nonlinear dynamic time analysis method is used to calculate the Beam end displacement, Shear at pier bottom and Pier bottom bending moment. Calculation results show that the viscous damper can effectively reduce the beam end displacement of the main beam under seismic response and the difference of structural stiffness has certain influence on the effect of viscous damper .By setting the damper reasonably, the force of the pier can be more uniform and reasonable.
