Strength reduction method is used to analysis the basal heave failure of a utility tunnel foundation pit in deep silt area. The analyzed results show that, the displacement at bottom is greater when this foundation pit collapses, the circle arc slide plane of narrow-deep foundation pit is affected by the opposite side fender post, and the safety factor result is significantly higher than of the semi-infinite body assumption. This article uses the simulation method to further analyze the influence of the thickness of soil reinforcement and the width of foundation pit on the basal stability of narrow-deep foundation pit in silt area.
