Abstract:Bridge deck with better fatigue performance, high self-weight or price, e.g. UHPC waffle deck, UHPC-steel composite deck, is suitable to be applied in slow lane. Traditional orthotropic steel deck (OSD) is more suitable for middle lane and fast lane to reduce self-weight. Combination of those two kinds of bridge deck together forms hybrid deck system, which have better fatigue performance and low self-weight. Load barrier ratio and effective width of hybrid deck system are analyzed base on a series of grid models. Equations to calculate load barrier ratio and effective width are fitted to the analysis data. Finally, design method of hybrid bridge deck is purposed.
