Abstract:With the continuous advancement of urbanization and motorization, traffic congestion has spread from large cities to small and medium-sized cities. Traffic congestion in small and medium-sized cities in developed areas has become more prominent, affecting the normal operation of urban traffic and the convenience of citizens' travel. Taking the management of traffic congestion in Haining, Zhejiang Province as an example, this paper systematically introduces its traffic operation status and analyzes the causes of traffic congestion. On this basis, seven targeted governance measures are put forward: "strengthening planning guidance, road system optimization, priority development of public transport, differential development of parking, improvement of slow-moving system, comprehensive management of congestion points, and intensified management", and all of which will provide references of congestion governance for small and medium-sized cities in developed area.
