Abstract:SAfter the 19th national congress, China"s economy has entered a new era of socialism with characteristics. The stage of high-quality development has come. Urban roads have changed from increment to stock. Improving the urban environment by improving the quality of urban roads has become an urgent problem to be solved, so as to achieve the transformation from quantity to quality. The street concept came into being, which provides new ideas and methods for the design of urban road quality improvement in the new era. Through the comparison of the basic meanings of urban roads and streets, the transformation of urban road design ideas to street ideas in five aspects: guidance, boundary, technology, function and management, and how to use street idea target design method, type design method, user group demand design method and space component element design method in the quality improvement design of urban roads, The application of street concept in urban road quality improvement design is analyzed and discussed in detail.
