Abstract:The treatment of collapsible loess should be paid more attention to when constructing high grade road and high-filled embankment in loess gully area. Design method of high-filled embankment in collapsible loess area was studied based on the high-filled embankment of north extension of ring road in Jinzhong. The design scheme of "strong foundation, steady embankment, solid slope, and drainage" was proposed. The undisturbed foundation at the bottom of the ditch was treated by lime-soil compaction pile, and the bearing capacity of the foundation is not less than 250kPa. The layered dynamic compaction method was used to deal with the backfill, and the deformation of the roadbed was dynamically monitored. In order to enhance the stability of the slope, the slope was graded and the slope foot wall was set. Two pipes were set at the bottom of the ditch to solve the problem of transverse passage of rainwater. The high-filled embankment is in good condition two years after construction.
