Abstract:Taking a bridge on the Ou River as an example, the reinforcement or reconstruction schemes of the existing anti-collision piers of the navigable bridges are studied. With the help of MIDAS and XTRACT software, the finite element analysis of the anti-collision performance of the bridges is carried out. The stresses and resistances of five schemes of the main bridge naked pier, the main bridge pier with the flexible anti-collision device, the original design anti-collision pier, the six-pile anti-collision pier and the four-pile flexible anti-collision device are calculated. In terms of safety and economy, an optimum anti-collision pier scheme is selected. The optimal mode of reinforcement or reconstruction of the existing anti-collision pier is proposed, which can be used as a reference for similar projects.
