Abstract:Construction Organization and Safety Management in in-situ Retrofitting of double-deck Steel Truss Bridge QIAN Guohui1 (1. Shanghai Municipal Road Transport Administrative Bureau., Shanghai 200025;) Abstract: The Songpu Bridge, originally built in 1976, was a double-deck steel truss bridge crossing the Huangpu River in Shanghai. The main bridge was composed of two 96+112m continuous riveted steel trusses. With the increase of traffic demand and the change of its own functions, the in-situ retrofitting shall be carried out. According to the External requirements, the bridge needs to ensure the traffic of non-motor vehicles during the retrofitting process. Meanwhile, the bridge is adjacent to the Jinshan railway and crosses the Huangpu River channel, so the construction organization and safety management are extremely difficult. Multi-stage overall construction organization and a number of safety measures were adopted in the implementation of the project, which effectively guaranteed the implementation of the project and provided experience for similar project transformation. Keywords: double-deck steel truss bridge, in-situ retrofitting, without interrupting traffic, construction organization, safety management
