Abstract:A multi-small box-girder bridge with corrugated steel webs (MBB-CSW) is a new type of steel-concrete composite structures, which replaces the concrete webs or stiffened plane webs by the corrugated steel webs. Aiming at viaduct construction, an MBB-CSW design scheme is proposed, and the corresponding economic and technical analysis is carried out. Based on the river channel rehabilitation project in Shanghai (from Fuchang Road to Jiangyang North Road), the proposed scheme is applied in practice. The results show that MBB-CSW has the advantages of high prestressing efficiency, clear load transfer path, faster construction speed, lower cost, and elegant appearance, etc., which make it has great potential of benefiting future viaduct design and construction.
