Abstract:Under the background of frequent extreme rainstorms, as an important part of the urban traffic network, whether the drainage of the bridge deck is smooth or not becomes an important factor affecting traffic safety. On the basis of combing the existing bridge drainage design specifications, drainage facilities and existing problems, the rainstorm intensity formula of 16 cities in China is selected to calculate the drainage capacity of typical bridge structures. It is found that the diameter of drainage pipe and the bottom slope of suspension section are the main factors affecting the drainage flow of drainage system. The conventional bridge deck drainage system can meet the drainage requirements, but the appropriate allowance should be considered to meet the drainage requirements under the extreme rainfall conditions.
