Abstract:The construction of underground diaphragm walls and other foundation pit support will encounter a variety of complex strata, one of which is karst. Karst geological conditions are extremely unfavorable to the construction of underground diaphragm walls. Based on the actual construction experience, the cavern investigation before trenching and the karst problems during trenching are discussed in detail. The discussion includes the treatment of the presence of boulders and sloping rocks in the cavern, as well as the treatment of cave-in and roadway sinking caused by the cavern, and the suggestions for the construction of underground diaphragm walls in some karst areas based on actual experience are given.
