Abstract:The foundation of the 13#~16# main piers of the Kampong Cham Mekong River Bridge in Cambodia consists of 10 cast-in-place piles with a diameter of 2.0 meters, which lengths are from 89 to 103 meters. During the construction of the pile foundation in the rainy season, due to the sudden flooding, the 14# and 15# water steel platforms will tilt as a whole. Aiming at the on-site situation, the existing materials, equipment, and personnel of the project are used to stabilize the steel platform firstly by four steps. Then after the flood, each steel casing is corrected and reinforced one by one. Finally, the liquefied soil around the casing is treated and improved to ensure the stability of the steel platform, which is safe and economical without affecting the construction period. The effect is very ideal. Based on the engineering examples, the stability treatment and subsequent correction experience of water steel platforms during the flood periods are introduced.
