Abstract:According to the master planning of Shanghai, the city will be built into an outstanding global city and a modern socialist international metropolis with the world influence in the future. In the process of urban energy level improvement, it will be accompanied by the construction and renewal of municipal infrastructure. It is of great significance to develop the characteristic manhole covers and explore its characteristic functions in combination with urban renewal. To this end, by analyzing the existing problems in the art design of current manhole cover, the differences in manhole cover design concepts at home and abroad are investigated and researched. The research and development strategy of drainage characteristic manhole cover in Shanghai is studied and proposed, including the overall strategy, characteristic manhole cover function research and main research and development planning, etc. And at the same time, the technical route of research, development and demonstration of characteristic manhole cover is put forward. Finally, the typical design cases are introduced in combination with the situation in the pilot area. The study believes that the development of characteristic manhole covers should first focus on improving its safety function, second, pay attention to fully integrating and displaying the history and culture of the city, the landmark culture and the drainage industry, and third, pay attention to reflecting the scientific and technological innovation and the characteristics of the times of the city in recent years. This study is a pilot move for the research and development of characteristic manhole covers in Shanghai. After the successful pilot, it can provide reference for the research and development of similar manhole covers in other areas of the city and the other municipal infrastructure characteristic manhole covers in the city.
