Abstract:In addition to meet the basic service functions of the park, the greenbelt and the surrounding plots, the surrounding branch roads of large parks and greenbelts also need to meet the auxiliary functional demands of providing the temporary parking and emergency evacuation for the citizens during peak periods such as holidays. The design method for the cross sections of large parks and greenbelts can be achieved by carrying out the preliminary planning research, analyzing the traffic characteristics, determining the road functional positioning and requirements, and then predicting the traffic flow in the working days, holidays or special activity days of motor vehicles, non-motored vehicles and pedestrians within the design period. Furthermore, the traffic capacity of road section is analyzed and the service level is evaluated to determine the number and width scale of the lanes and to propose the technical standards and parameters of each section. Finally, many schemes of the sections are compared and selected. The finally scheme is determined after the comprehensive analysis on the technology and economy.
