Abstract:Under the severe environmental conditions, the ordinary reinforced concrete members generally have the problem of insufficient durability. The use of stainless steel reinforcement can fundamentally prevent steel corrosion, significantly improve the durability of the structure, ensure the service safety and design life of the structure, and save the maintenance costs. The promulgation of relevant norms, especially the national standard of stainless steel reinforcement for reinforced concrete, has created conditions for its implementation and use in bridge engineering. In view of the difference between the stainless steel bar and the ordinary steel bar, the design cannot be simply based on direct equal substitution. The design content of application of stainless steel reinforcement in bridge concrete structure is analyzed and established. Based on the research results at home and abroad, the application situation, materials selection, protective layer thickness, bending and connection of the stainless steel reinforcement in bridge concrete structure, and the design guidelines of its use in conjunction with ordinary steel, bearing capacity, deformation and crack, temperature deformation difference, fatigue resistance and seismic performance are summarized and proposed. Some related problems are analyzed and discussed.
