Abstract:To study the effects of Nano-Al2O3 modifier on the physical properties, rheological properties of A-70# matrix asphalt and its microscopic modification mechanism, Nano-Al2O3 modified asphalt with different contents (1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%) is prepared based on laboratory tests, and its three indexes, viscosity, rheology, anti-aging properties and Fourier infrared spectroscopy test are carried out. The results show that the softening point and viscosity of matrix asphalt after Nano-Al2O3 is added are improved, the penetration and ductility are decreased, and the optimal content of Nano-Al2O3 is 4%. The rheological test result shows that Nano-Al2O3 can improve the rutting factor of the matrix asphalt and significantly enhance its high temperature stability to improve the anti-aging properties, but it is not good for the anti-cracking performance at low temperature. According to the microscopic analysis results, there are both physical changes and weak chemical reactions between Nano-Al2O3 and the matrix asphalt.
