Abstract:The high-pier footbridges in mountain area with large elevation difference are characterized by the lightweight and towering structures. The problem of human-induced vibration control is particularly prominent, but there is little relevant research in this area. Referring the German Footbridge Design Guideline (EN03—2007), the human-induced vibration comfort and vibration reduction measures of Guanyin Temple spiral ramp on Xiamen health walk are analyzed and studied on the basis of finite element analysis and environmental vibration dynamic testing results in order to provide the beneficial reference for the design of the similar high-pier footbridges. The result shows that the addition of dampers is an effective measure to suppress the lateral vibrations of high-pier footbridges.
