Abstract:The pipe-jacking slurry is equal to the “blood” of pipe-jacking construction. Its properties determine whether the project can proceed smoothly. Therefore, the effects of five polymers including WRA-97, WRA-70, WRA-61(AMPS-NNDMA polymer) and WRA-104, WRA-116(AMPS-AM polymer) on drag reduction and rheological properties of pipe-jacking slurry after added are studied. The result shows that the basic performance, drag reduction property and rheological property of WRA-polymer slurry are related to the polymer type, relative molecular mass and its structure. The anti-filtration property of AMPS-NNDMA polymer is better than AMPS-AM polymer, but AMPS-AM polymer slurry has better lubrication performance than AMPS-NNDMA polymer slurry. The WRA polymer slurry has the good thixotropy and shear thinning property. Its rheological curve can be described by the constitutive equation of power-law fluid. The change law of its rheological parameters is agreed with the change law of funnel viscosity.
