Abstract:Taking a high filled municipal bridge in a mountain area as an example, the design difficulties of the high filled buttressed abutments in the mountainous areas are introduced. A refined Midas finite element analysis model is established to compare and study the forces of the pile foundations, buttresses, base slabs and other important components of the abutments with and without the brace beams. The structural optimization and reinforcement are carried out according to the forces. The difficulties in engineering design are summarized and reflected, and the improvement measures are put forward, which provides the inspiration and reference for the subsequent design of similar bridge structures.
