Abstract:In order to study the influence of quick, low-cost, low-impact seamless reconstruction of existing small-span and medium-span bridges on the temperature response of asphalt pavement in the bridge-head lapping area, the temperature field and the friction coefficient of backfill behind abutment are selected as research parameters to carry out the finite element mechanical simulation modeling analysis and the engineering verification. The long-term monitoring results of research and application engineering show that after the rapid, low-cost and low-impact seamless reconstruction is completed for the existing small-span and medium-span bridges, through the special construction of lapping end and the multiple strengthening and toughening measures, the applicability and durability of the pavement in the range of circulating invisible joints are good, which can effectively delay the causing time of reflective cracks on the asphalt pavement at the junction of the reconstructed area. The theoretical and data supports can be provided for the structural design and application of seamless reconstruction of existing bridges during the service period and the follow-up maintenance work.
