Abstract:The double-curved arch bridge is a characteristic bridge constructed under the specific historical background such as lack of steel and shortage of funds in China. With the passage of time, and the development of society and technology, this type of bridge has been eliminated gradually due to the shortcomings such as poor structural integrity, insufficient bearing capacity, etc. The existing double-curved arch bridges are facing the problems such as low loading standard, disease and aging. These bridges have been in the peak of maintenance and reconstruction, and the majority of the bridges will be dismantled. As a physical label witnessing the development of the times, the double-curved arch bridge has rich historical and cultural connotations and economic value. Combined with an actual case of maintaining and reconstructing a double-curved arch bridge, the ideas and principles of bridge maintenance, reconstruction, protection and utilization are elaborated, and the technical essentials of landscape enhancement, maintenance and reinforcement are introduced to explore the ideas of resource conservation and utilization of this bridge type with the national features.
