Abstract:In the process of pipeline construction, the different construction schemes can be adopted according to the different laying depths of pipelines, mainly including the schemes of slope excavation, steel sheet pile support and pipe jacking. Taking a riverside avenue project in Huanggang of Hubei Province as the background, the range of pipeline excavation depth applicable to these methods is analyzed mainly from the perspective of engineering cost and not considering the restrictions of the surrounding environment. The results indicate that in the general soil areas, when the excavation depth of pipeline is not larger than 5 m, the slope excavation is more economical. When the excavation depth of pipeline is 5~7 m, the excavation with the steel sheet pile support is more economical. And when the excavation depth of pipeline is larger than 7 m, the pipe jacking construction is more economical. In the permeable soil areas, when the excavation depth of pipeline is not larger than 3 m, the slope excavation is more economical. When the excavation depth of pipeline is 3~5.5 m, the excavation with the steel sheet pile support is more economical. And when the excavation depth of pipeline is larger than 5.5 m, the pipe jacking construction is more economical. In the soft soil areas, when the excavation depth of pipeline is not larger than 2 m, the slope excavation is more economical. When the excavation depth of pipeline is 2~5.5 m, the excavation with the steel sheet pile support is more economical. And when the excavation depth of pipeline is larger than 5.5 m, the pipe jacking construction is more economical. When the steel sheet pile support is used for excavation, if the center spacing of two pipes is not larger than 5.5, the excavation in a same trench is more economical, and if the center spacing of two pipes is larger than 5.5 m, the excavation not in a same trench is more economical. The research results can provide some reference for the selection of pipeline construction scheme in the future.
