Abstract:The renewal of historic scenic areas is an important component of urban renewal. Due to multiple factors such as historical protection and spatial texture, the expansion of the road network system in historic scenic areas is difficult. The organic renewal of the transportation system has attracted attention from all sectors of society. Taking the historic scenic area of Hankou as an example, by analyzing the problems in the transportation system of the historic scenic area, and aiming at the public traffic, slow traffic and static traffic, five updating paths of reconstructing the road transportation system, upgrading the public transportation system, forming the slow traffic network + improving the quality, expanding the static traffic + upgrading the efficiency, and realizing the whole renewal with the total element reconstruction of the road as the starting point are put forward according to the circumstance. The expected goals of organic renewal of the transportation system, overall renewal of the scenic area, and thus the dual upgrading of resulting economic and social value have been achieved. All results obtained can provide reference for urban renewal in similar regions.
