Abstract:The integration of transportation has the important support and leading role in shaping the space shape of the metropolitan area and optimizing the industrial layout, and is an important prerequisite and foundation for building a modern metropolitan area. As a key part of transportation integration, opening up the “dead-end road” means to solve the “last kilometer” that affects the development of urban integration in the metropolitan area, which is of great significance for the construction of a new development pattern. Firstly, the characteristics of the overall road network of Nanjing metropolitan area and the distribution of “dead-end road” are sorted out. Then, based on the characteristics of the dead-end road in different states, the existing problems and the formed reasons are deeply analyzed. Finally, focusing on the problem-oriented, the countermeasures are put forward from the perspective of strengthening the top-level planning and design, perfecting the collaborative work mechanism, striving for the support and guarantee of policy elements, and building the evaluation standards.
