Abstract:Based on the background of highway subgrade compaction quality control and detection, PFWD is used to study the rapid detection method of subgrade compaction quality, and the sources of test errors are summarized and analyzed from three aspects of human operation, instrumentation and equipment, and testing environment. The results show that the PFWD method has good test repeatability, and the coefficients of variation for each set of testing results are below 0.1. The subgrade modulus based on PFWD is in negative correlation as a power function with deflection, while in positive correlation as an exponential function with bearding plate force. Thus, the method can effectively reflect the quality and non-uniformity of subgrade compaction. The test errors caused by drop hammer control, bearing plate contact surface processing, sensor calibration, and calculation parameter selection should be strictly controlled, which is helpful for the method to be applied more widely.
