Abstract:With the further deepening of the quantitative setting and quota management of carbon emissions in the domestic transportation industry, the precise quantification of greenhouse gas emissions from urban transport will help to strengthen the effective regulation of carbon emissions from transport and improve the overall sustainability of urban transport systems. The geographical form of mountainous city is special. At present, there is no calculating system targeted for the carbon emissions from transport. By studying the road network characters and traffic characteristics of mountainous city, based on the "bottom-up" method, the calculating model suitable for the carbon emissions in the traffic operation period in Chongqing is established to clarify the relationship of the key parameters, such as road alignment, vehicle type, energy consumption and driving speed with the emission factors. The carbon emission factor database of mountainous urban traffic is constructed and the calculation software of traffic carbon emission is generated. Taking the roads in Chongqing Jiefangbei Business District as the example, according to the acquired traffic flow and road network data, the calculated CO2 emission equivalent of Jiefangbei Business District is 44 000 t, in which the carbon emission is similar to the estimated result of relevant planning data of Chongqing in 2023. The validity of calculating model is verified. The established method and software for calculating the carbon emission of mountainous urban transportation can calculate more accurate carbon emission results based on road network operation data, which can provide the quantitative indicators for the carbon emissions with the different transport planning schemes.
