Abstract:In order to study the design countermeasures of retaining walls in deep soft soil areas, taking the project of Zhongyuan Road connecting with Qiangsheng Road in Suzhou as an example, based on the engineering geological survey report, the type selection and structure scheme of the retaining wall in the bridge approach slope section are studied through the analysis of site environment, geological conditions, pipeline laying and so on. The study result shows that the bearing capacity of the underlying stratum is insufficient because of the retaining wall located on the complex soft soil. Therefore, the cantilever retaining wall is used for the retaining, and the high-pressure rotary jet pile is firstly used to treat the subgrade in the area where the bearing capacity of retaining water subgrade is insufficient. The stability of the retaining wall and the bearing capacity of the subgrade are checked and analyzed. The result explains that the design scheme of retaining walls is rational and reliable, which provides a useful reference for similar projects in soft soil areas such as Suzhou.
