Abstract:Urban roads are constrained by land area, therefore the green space is less, hard area of underlying surface is more, amount of surface runoff is large and pollution of the initial rainwater is serious. In urban road construction, how to maximize the absorption of rainfall within the limited space of urban roads and to purify the pollution of initial rainwater runoff has become a critical focus in the design of sponge cities. Therefore, the design of typical sponge-type urban roads in Wuxi City are analyzed and summarized. The rational design of sponge urban road under the conditions of limited road land area and less green space is explored. The optimum scheme for the sponge city construction suitable for promotion throughout the region is put forward.
