Abstract:The use of waste asphalt mixtures responds to the national policy of energy conservation and dual carbon. In the construction and demolition process of infrastructures such as roads, expressways, airports and so on, a large amount of waste asphalt mixture is generated. The recycling and reuse of the waste asphalt mixtures meet the policy requirements of energy conservation and environmental protection, which are paid attention by the researchers. The definition, the characteristics affecting the use efficiency and the factors controlling the recycling of waste asphalt mixtures are introduced, and the typical range of properties of waste asphalt mixtures are summarized and described. Combined with the characteristics of waste asphalt mixture, its application in the roadbed layer and soil stabilization is discussed, and its economic and environmental benefits as well as possible challenges are analyzed.
