Abstract:Aiming at the problem that X-shaped intersection with small crossing angle affects traffic safety commonly in urban roads, the influence of X-shaped intersection plane and vertical on the driving safety and comfort is analyzed. The optimization schemes propose the local changes in alignment to increase the crossing angle, considering the driving visual field of drivers to check and correct the length of the stopping visual distance, extending the gradient length of ultra-high transverse slope to eliminate the phenomenon of "twists and turns" and raising the center elevation of intersection to slow down the "reverse overheight" in order to ensure the traffic safety and traffic efficiency at the intersection. Combined with the practice of the Guangzhou Science and Technology Education City Municipal Supporting Road Project, the effect of the optimization plan is verified.
