Abstract:With the increasing improvement of guidelines, standards and norms related to streets, the street design concepts are gradually being widely accepted. However, the current typical street reconstruction projects mainly focus on the secondary and branch roads with low traffic volume, and there is a relative lack of relevant examples of street design for main roads. By analyzing the concept of street design, the differences between street design and conventional municipal road design are explored. Combined with the reconstruction practice of Gongnong Road in Nantong City, how to allocate the spatial road rights, and design the street landscapes and urban furniture in streets is discussed. The experience and insights of comprehensive street design are obtained, which can provide reference for the design of similar street projects.
