Abstract:The design treatment scale of a municipal wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Suzhou is 60 000 m3/d. The main sewage treatment process is "rotational flow grit tank + oxidation ditch + secondary sedimentation tank + flocculation filtration". The design effluent quality is carried out according to the first class A standard in Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB 18918—2002). Taking the upgrading and reconstruction project of this WWTP as an example, on the basis of the existing sewage treatment facilities, the ability of organic matter removal and ammonia nitrification is strengthened through the reconstruction of oxidation ditch. At the same time, the advanced treatment facilities of high efficiency sedimentation tank and denitrification deep bed filter are newly built for the advanced removal of nitrogen and phosphorus. After the implementation of this project, the operation of WWTP is stable, and the effluent quality can stably reach the quasi-IV water standard (TN≤10 mg/L).
