Abstract:In recent decades, the fabricated bridges still dominate in expressway construction. If encountering a large number of complex terrains, the bridge designers will face problems such as a sharp increase in workload, complexity, intricacy, high specificity and a tendency to make mistakes, and the construction units are also confronted with the predicament of an excessive variety of structures, inability to reuse formwork, and difficulty in ensuring construction quality and schedule. At this time, the standard drawings of fabricated bridges can solve this problem better. Some key points and difficulties required for attention in the calculation of standard drawings for fabricated bridge piers are introduced, such as how to reasonably determine the scope of application of piers, calculate the working conditions, and how to consider the calculation length. The corresponding solutions are provided, and some experience in applying standard drawings, split couplings, and combining pier heights within couplings are summarized, which hopes to provide some ideas for other bridge designers in pier calculations.
