Abstract:In recent years, the urban development has entered an important period of urban renewal in China, and the construction mode of urban development has shifted from large-scale incremental construction to a combination of stock upgrading and incremental structural adjustment. In order to steadily promote urban renewal and support high-quality urban development, it is urgent to sort out and study the traffic congestion points in the old urban areas. The reconstruction schemes are proposed to improve the traffic service level of the road network in the old urban areas. Taking the road network of Rongdong Street in Rongcheng District, Jieyang City as an example, through a thorough investigation and analysis of the current traffic situation, the existing problems are sorted out, and the necessity of reconstructing the intersection of East Tianfu Road and Jieyang Avenue is demonstrated. Combined with the land use situation around the project, a scheme of using a tunnel to underpass Jieyang Avenue for East Tianfu Road is proposed. The traffic organization design of the intersection before and after the reconstruction is fully studied, and the rationality and feasibility of the engineering design scheme are demonstrated. This scheme can provide engineering experience and design reference for the reconstruction of urban intersection.
