Abstract:As an important transportation and landscape gateway road in the middle of Nansha District, Guangzhou, Fenghuang Avenue is currently mainly undertaking the function of short-distance traffic service within the central city area. With the acceleration of urbanization, various functional groups and transportation hub facilities in Nansha are increasingly being constructed and perfected. Thus, the functional demand for roads has changed from a single traffic capacity to the pursuit of higher speed, further accessibility and more beautiful landscape effects. Under this background, the rapid reconstruction of important roads such as Fenghuang Avenue has become an inevitable choice for the development of urban transportation. Therefore, by deeply discussing the transformation of the functional positioning of Fenghuang Avenue, and in combination with the project background and construction conditions, the key challenges in the process of rapid reconstruction of Fenghuang Avenue are analyzed from the aspects such as the reconstruction scope definition, interchange node reconstruction, non-motorized traffic perfection, road waterlogging treatment and landscape greening improvement, and the practical and feasible solutions are put forward to provide reference and lessons for similar urban road reconstruction projects.
