Abstract:Due to the site limitations, the newly built retaining wall of a cultural tourism project in Hunchun needs to be combined with the newly built flood discharge utility tunnel to form a combined cantilever retaining wall. This unconventional retaining wall has dual functions of retaining soil and flood discharge, and is no longer a single cantilever structural model. The conventional design and calculation methods are not applicable. Therefore, the finite element numerical analysis method is used to calculate the overall stability of the combined structure, and analyze the stress and deformation characteristics of the structure. And the finite element calculation results are used for the reinforced concrete design. The monitoring data after the construction of the combined cantilever retaining wall shows that this combined cantilever retaining structure is stable and its deformation meets the requirements of the specifications.
