Abstract:With the successive introduction of policies for the integrated development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, the cooperation between Hong Kong and the mainland has been further deepened. The northern metropolis, which aims to "build the second economic engine of Hong Kong", has entered a stage of accelerated advancement. Based on the urban planning and engineering research in the northern metropolis, the standard values and selection of various technical indicators in the geometric alignment design of urban roads in Hong Kong TPDM Code (Modification of Transport Planning and Design) are introduced, and are compared and analyzed with the industry standard Design Specifications for Urban Road Routes (CJJ 193—2012) in the mainland so as to obtain the similarities and differences in the values of urban road design parameters between Hong Kong and the mainland, which provide the experience for mainland companies to engage in civil engineering planning and design in Hong Kong, and also provide the reference for engineering designers.
