Abstract:Under the background of a series of strategic developments including “promoting the integration of the Yangtze River Delta”, “building an international financial center and an international shipping center”, and "making efforts to build five new towns”, the urban spatial development of Shanghai is steadily adjusted as a “multi-core and multi-center” spatial structure, and the development chain of the western new town is an important part of the urban function layout. Jiasong Highway is a main arterial road in the western region of Shanghai, which runs north-south and parallel to G15 Highway, and is also an important part of the “five-vertical seven-horizontal” skeleton network of Songjiang New Town. The overall design scheme of the new project for the cross-river link section in Jiasong Highway is systematically introduced including the planning function analysis, traffic flow prediction, overall layout scheme of the whole line, main node scheme and traffic organization for transverse intersected roads. By systematically studying the new project of cross-river link section in Jiasong Highway, it is hoped that this project will provide the reference for the study of design scheme of trunk highways in urbanizing regions in China.
