Abstract:With the continuous development of highway construction in China, a large number of old asphalt pavements have entered the maintenance period. During the maintenance and curing, plenty of waste pavement materials, commonly known as reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) are generated. Usually, before the design and use of recycled asphalt mixtures, the treatment of old materials, analysis of original particle size, and performance are the key points. Therefore, aiming at the emulsified asphalt cold recycling technology, firstly, RAP will be experimentally analyzed and studied, and the mix proportion of cold recycled mixtures will be reasonably adjusted to determine the optimal dosage of emulsified asphalt, ordinary Portland cement, water and other materials. Then, the high-temperature stability, water stability and low-temperature performance are tested. The test results show that the relevant data of micro strain, residual stability after immersion, freeze-thaw splitting strength ratio, and low-temperature bending strain all meet the related technical requirements, which proves that the cold recycled mixture has the good pavement performance. The construction processes of mixing, transportation, paving, and rolling of cold recycled mixtures are summarized. The mixing time is recommended to be increased by 10 s on the basis of the normal mixing time. The paving time throughout the process is suggested to be controlled at 1 to 3 m/min. The speed and force of the compaction must be well controlled. The curing time is recommended to be 3 ~ 7 d.
